Introducing Laya

Layaは浅草出身で地元をこよなく愛している。友人を自宅へ招いたり、近所の呑み屋やバーで一緒にお酒を酌み交わすことが好きだ。浅草でも飲み方はもっぱら「おっさん飲み」だと言う。焼酎や日本酒がベースのお酒を片手におつまみを食べる。流れる音楽も邦楽だ。浅草ではみなフレンドリーで仲が良く、東京では珍しい空気感が流れているようだ。Layaは渋谷や新宿など賑わったエリアは苦手。ただし、渋谷のスクランブル交差点にあるTSUTAYAやスバーバックスの入る建物の8Fにお気に入りのスポットがある。「WIRED TOKYO 1999」と呼ばれるその場所は、日中はカフェだが夜にはバーやラウンジに近い雰囲気となり、Layaはそこで誕生日パーティーを行なったこともある。恵比寿、代官山、表参道も好きなエリア。ただ浅草のように知人が集まる場所で過ごす時間が好きだと話してくれた。

I love to hangout in my hometown, Asakusa, I really do. I like to invite people to my house and to the bars there. People in Asakusa only drink ojisan-drinks (“old-man drinks”) like shouchuu and sake and eat Japanese food and never play foreign music. But they are really close, and it does not feel like a city. So, I don’t really like the center of Shibuya or Shinjuku; it’s too much; too crowded. But there is a place in Shibuya where I like to go. Above the Starbucks and Tsutaya, which is like a library-cafe, there are some restaurants on the 8th floor, a place called 1999/WIRED Tokyo. During the day it’s more like a cafe, but I love it at nightime. They have a really nice bar, and I did a birthday party there. It’s one of my favorite places. And I think Ebisu, Daikanyama, and Omotesando are okay. But I actually like to go places where I know people.
