Introducing Steffie

（東京について）すべてを捨てて東京に引っ越すと決めたのは、サンフランシスコでデジタルマーケティングに携わっていたときでした。語学学校に通うということ以外は、何も計画せずに発ちました。いくつかのリモートコンサルティングと東京でタレントやモデルの仕事をしながら、最初の1年間を過ごしました。毎週フェイスブックやインスタグラムに写真を投稿したり、日本での経験をブログに書いたりしていたのですが、ある時から「インフルエンサー」の仕事としての連絡が入り始めました。初めてのことだったので、私は自分がインフルエンサーとして認識されていることの意味がわかりませんでした。インフルエンサーになることは、私の意図としたことではありませんでした。率直に、私は日本にいるのが大好きで、すべてが私をワクワクさせてくれて、そういった経験のすべてを記録して世界と共有したかったのです。しかし、私は、自分たちの製品の写真や、イベント、レストランでの体験を投稿して、私のネットワークで共有して欲しいという人たちからの仕事を受け始めました。予想していなかったものを試してみて、自分は何をするのが好きなのか見てみたかったのです。やがて、友人のAmeeが、私に連絡を取ってくれて、素晴らしいことに取り組んでいる素敵な女性起業家たちを紹介するのを手伝うことに興味があるかと尋ねてくれました。私は、二つ返事で引き受け、@ameeandpepper と @kokotck と @moekosl と私で、協力しました。こうして、 @startupladyjp が誕生したのです。（Steffieのcyberpunkへの情熱については、話すことができなかったので、次回取り上げます。）

[[About Tokyo]]: I was working in digital marketing in San Francisco when I decided to drop everything and move to Tokyo, with no plans other than going to language school. I did that for a year, while doing some remote consulting, and some local talent/modeling jobs. I was posting pictures and vlogging my experience in Japan weekly on Facebook and Instagramーthen people started reaching out to me for “influencer” jobs, and that was the first time I was like, “Am I an influencer? What does that mean?” Becoming an influencer was never my intention. To be honest, I just loved being in Japanーeverything excited meーand I wanted to record everything and share it with the world. But I started picking up these gigs: people wanting you to post pictures of their products; go to their events; visit their restaurants; and share it with my network. I was just dipping my feet into different directions and seeing what I liked. Eventually, my friend Amee reached out to me and asked me if I’d be interested in helping her showcase awesome female entrepreneurs who were doing awesome things, and I was like, “Hell yes!’’ and @ameeandpepper, @kokotck, and @moekosl and I went to work. That’s how @startupladyjp was born. [[Ooops, we never got to speak about Steffie’s passion for cyberpunk. Next time . . .]]
