QLOVEのメンバーや、メンバーとの出会い、コミュニティを作った時期について教えてください。

レイナ・マルケスとクロエ・ダグラスは、QLOVEのクリエイターです。私たちはある会社で出会いました。そこで、私たちはお互いの経験や、当時の会社に対して感じていた嫌な気持ちを通して、絆を深めることができました。

QLOVEは、多文化な背景を持つクィアの女性である私たちにとって、常に議論されてきたことでした。シアトルやロンドンのクィア・シーンは東京よりもはるかに大きいのですが、私たちはクィア・コミュニティーを中心とした包括的な場が常に必要であると感じています。

QLOVEを作ろうと思ったきっかけは何ですか？

クィアの場に関して、私たちが多くの経験を積んできたことが背景です。また、ロンドンやシアトルなど、LGBTQ+のパーティーシーンが盛んで多様性のある都市へのオマージュも込めたかったからです。

QLOVEコミュニティの原動力となるミッション／ゴールは何ですか？

私たちのミッションは、LGBTQ+や社会から疎外されたグループの人たちのために、楽しくてセクシーで安全な空間を作ることです。

ハイブで行われたQLOVEのローンチイベントについて教えてください。イベントのテーマ、目標、参加者はどのような方々だったのでしょうか？

QLOVEの最初のイベントは、渋谷のザ・ハイブ神南で開催されました。この日はバレンタインデーの直前で、まさに愛にあふれたイベントでした。会場では、スポンサーであるFruits in SuitsとPommery Champagneからシャンパンが提供されました。さらに、厳選されたレストランのクーポン券、シャンパンやビールのパッケージ、Millennials of Tokyoの独占写真撮影など、バラエティに富んだ賞品が用意されました。70名以上の参加者が集まり、私たちの期待を上回るイベントとなりました。

私たちは新しく設立された非営利事業で、関係を構築できるクリエーターや企業を常に探しています。また、イベントの最新情報や、寄付をしたい人のためのリンクを掲載したサイトを立ち上げています。

Can you say who the members of QLOVE are; how you met; when you created the community?

Reyna Marquez and Chloe Douglas are the creators of QLOVE.

We both met at a company. Whilst there, we were able to bond through our experiences and mutual dislike for the company at the time.

QLOVE has always been a discussion for us as we are both Queer women from multicultural backgrounds. Seattle and London’s Queer scene is much larger than Tokyo’s however we felt that there was always room for an inclusive space centering the Queer community.

What inspired you to create QLOVE?

We had gained a lot of experiences when it came to Queer spaces. We wanted to also pay homage to London and Seattle, cities that are diverse and a large LGBTQ+ party scene.

What’s the mission/goal that drives the QLOVE community?

Our mission is to create fun, sexy and safe spaces for LGBTQ+ and marginalized groups of people.

What can you tell us about the QLOVE launch event at The Hive? What were the themes of the event; what were the goals; who were the participants?

Our first QLOVE event was hosted by The Hive Jinnan, Shibuya. It was just before Valentine’s Day so love was definitely in the air. Complimentary champagne on arrival from our sponsors Fruits in Suits and Pommery Champagne. With a variety of prizes that included vouchers for select restaurants, champagne and beer packages and an exclusive photoshoot with Millennials of Tokyo. More than 70 people showed up and it was an event that exceeded all of our expectations.

We are a newly established nonprofit business and are always looking for creatives and businesses to build relationships with. Also, we are setting up a site which will include updates on events and a link for anyone who would like to donate.
