Introducing Mari

Why did I want to meet here today? Shibuya was the first place that I became who I really am. It was here that I became me. There is always something going on, which makes it easy for me to bring my musician friends when they visit: they can tour the area, get to know Japan, and feel inspired here. At the same time, even for my well-known friends from abroad, they can relax because no-one knows or cares about them being famous; it means they don’t have to get “too drunk with themselves.” While there are so many levels to Shibuya, I also like Shimokizawa—it’s messy, vintage, and authentic. They’re doing a lot of developments there right now to change for the Olympics in 2020, but I still like the vintage side of it. There are a lot of music bars there, like jazz ones, and many of them are hidden. Although I like listening to hip-hop, I sometimes find it heavy; they have a lot of strong words that tire me. But Jazz is straight talking about love, friendship, and sometimes about the singer—but in a genuine way. So I go to a lot of jazz bars in Shimokizawa just to relax and be myself for a moment. Apart from that, I like to be at home, mixing music or being with my friends. Alcohol and MUSIC, that is all!🔥😍🌟
