Introducing Kenjo

Kenjoにとっては、東京の夜景は #半端ない と言う。香港を100万ドルの夜景と言うように、Kenjoも東京のイメージはきらびやかなネオンのライトや”ディストピア”のようなイメージだった。やはり原宿や新宿など”クレイジー”な場所に魅力を感じるようだ。Kenjoのお気に入りスポットは、新宿西口のとあるビル9階。そこから見下ろす夜の新宿駅に鳥肌がたったと言う。Kenjoは夜の景色が好きだ。日中には気づかないものが夜に顔の覗かせるからだ。人間が作り上げた街が鮮やかに光ることに感動する。東京駅の美しい建築もお気に入り。ただやはり好きなのは東京の夜。みんながなぜTokyoの夜が好きなのかよく分かるようになったそうだ。

How do I see Tokyo? I think of it in that the classic stereotype of a neon-lit, dystopian, “Bladerunner” kind of thing. I naturally try to write about the crazy-looking parts of Tokyo: Harajuku, Shinjuku, places like that. There are parts of Shinjuku, like this place at the West Exit, on the 9th floor—It has the most amazing views of the station at night. And it really works for me. In the day time, I don’t really notice as many things. But at night . . . that’s the one time that I think manmade objects really look beautiful: when they are lit up with artificial light. But there are other places, like Tokyo Station, that are crazy-beautiful at times, and really look amazing. So I really get why people love Tokyo at night time.
