Introducing Una

「私がHomeにいると感じられる大切な家族や仲間がいるところがHomeよ。」と答えた。ほとんどの人が出さない回答ではないだろうか。生まれ育ったボスニア、両親が住むスロベニアの首都リュブリャナ、姉妹が住むオーストラリアはUnaにとって大切なHome。また、Unaは東京に移住する前に世界中の色んな土地に住んでいる。ドイツも思い入れの強い場所だ。サンフランシスコにも住んでいたが、ドラマチックな出来事の連続であまりHomeとは感じてられない様子…。東京ではこれまで両国、浅草、稲城市などに住んでおり、この3つも居心地が良いと語る。一般的にHomeは出身地であることが多いだろう。しかし、Unaほど色々なところに住んでいるとHomeをひとつに絞れないことも当然かもしれない。

Where is home for me? It’s kind of really difficult to say. It always connects to where the people are that make me feel like I’m at home. So it’s definitely Tokyo; it’s definitely Ljublijana, where my parents are. My sister moved to Australia, and I went to visit her. I expected more of it, but I still call it home because she is there. Bosnia is also my home because I was born there. Germany feels like home because I lived there, too. I also stayed in San Francisco for two years, but it was quite dynamic–as I was travelling a lot–so I don’t quite call it home. It’s kind of strange: even in Tokyo, it depends on where you’ve lived. I’ve lived in Ryogoku, Asakusa, and Inagi. Those are my homes. They are the three neighborhoods where I feel really comfortable. Where’s home for you?
